As a small program, we don’t always have the expertise or staff capacity to do everything we want to do. I’ve called on Alison’s support numerous times over the last few years and she’s always stepped up enthusiastically. From helping write an Op Ed, to assessing a program, drafting a funding proposal, and working with me to plan a new initiative, she has always delivered what we needed, when we needed it.

I often also find that she has included thinking and analysis of aspects and issues we hadn’t originally spotted, a very useful added benefit! Alison’s help means we get more done, confidently.”
— Sarah Pole, Director, Childhood Support & Advocacy (CASA)
It was an absolute privilege to have the opportunity to work with Alison. She is a brilliant legal researcher who did exceptional work for our organization. She developed several ground-breaking organizational policy approaches that were the first of their kind in Canada.

Her ability to work respectfully and collaboratively with an organization that serves racialized women also speaks to her incredible commitment to social justice issues and demonstrated true allyship.

In late 2017, we became aware that an aggressive crackdown was taking place against LGBTQI activists in Egypt. This was an emergency situation and we needed to respond quickly. Alison looked into the situation and interviewed several activists who had already fled the country to piece together precisely what was going on. She produced a succinct and insightful situation brief for us — complete with recommended actions.

We were able to intervene on behalf of the LGBTQI community in Egypt. Many thanks to Alison for stepping in at this critical time! Her support was instrumental.

Alison is not just a policy analyst; she’s a steadfast changemaker who brings legal analysis, sound research and empathy to the fight for human rights for all. Her legal expertise, in-depth knowledge of HIV policy, and feminist analysis provided our documentary with a unique perspective. As a result, the project was well-positioned to be utilized as an education and advocacy resource.

She is an incredible person to collaborate with on complex social issues!

Neighbourhood Legal Services hired Alison to lead the development of a student onboarding/training manual, pursuant to a grant we received to improve our internal processes. Alison was the perfect person for the job. She has a highly sophisticated knowledge of the community legal aid clinic system, the law student program landscape, and the responsibilities of teaching and mentoring students. As a result, Alison steered this important work in a principled and thorough fashion. She conducted focused interviews with current and former students, and convened sister clinics to share best practices.

At the end of the project, Alison delivered a clear manual that has been very effective for us in our work. We now are able to onboard students on key competencies quickly in their placements, setting them and our staff up for success in each student cycle. I cannot recommend Alison highly enough. She’s a clear communicator, a wise counsel, and a highly effective person to add to your team as needed.
